Review of Samsung LN52A550 52″ 1080p LCD TV
I recently bought a quite expensive Sony Bravia television, but there were a few problems with it that I just couldn’t bare to live with (I think I got a bad LCD panel) so I decided to return it and also take some time to do a little bit more research online for the latest and greatest Plasma and LCD hdtvs online. It was the tremendous amount of over-the-moon samsung LN52A550 Reviews that I encountered while looking for the best rated and reviewed 52″ 1080p tvs that really turned me onto the LN-52A550T panel, and when I returned the Sony I decided it was the television I would get.
Right from the get go I could instantly tell that the Ln52A550 was the a much better tv, and that I had somewhat lucked out on getting a faulty panel on the returned item, it was actually a much lower and better price with better specs surprisingly as well, something I should have noticed when I made such a large rushed purchase the first time.
Here are the Pro’s and Cons I have assimilated since I have started to use this thing to all its capabilities through various video and high definition sources:
Pros of the LN-52A550:
- Amazing Contrast ratio – the contrast and brightness really work together to produce deep rich blacks and solid whites, not too birght and quite true color.
- The remote is pretty easy to get used to, logically laid out, and has lights on the keys for viewing in the dark
- Awesome picture quality in lower HD resolutions (480i/p)
- Truly awesome picture quality in higher HD resolutions and upscaled 1080p
- Very low glare, quite easy to view even in intense lighting
- Tons of options, fully loaded menus, tons of advanced tweaking and setting up possible
- Awesome angles for viewing while sitting to the side, much easier to see off to the side then any television I remeber
- Beautiful looking finish, design and polish adds a lot of eye candy value to a room
- USB/Computer/Music connections and menus were awesome, easy to use and really neat
- A whole lot more but thats off the top of my head!!!!
Cons of the LNv 52A550:
- The type of material/plastic they use makes for lots of dust
- Sound isn’t all that impressive and sometimes downright not good at all right out of the box, see internet for some sound adjustments you can make in the various sound interface
- Not much else wrong with this….
Verdict on the 52A550 from Samsung:
I’m absolutely in love with this LCD and am quite pleased that the original television I bought was defective; allowing me to research and read samsung ln52a550 review/reports and turn me onto this much better performing and much cheaper priced tv… Has to be one of the best buys I have made in a long time, and easily one of the top 3 televisions out there right now, glad to be yet another more-then-satisfied review on samsung ln52a550; they deserve the praise with a product like this!!!
